Reflections on the Shakedown Cruise
Saturday, August 3 2019
I've learned a lot since I arrived in Salem on Saturday, July 20. With 20/20 hindsight I wish I had allowed more time both before and after the shakedown cruise. There were some very long days in both of those segments, and it would also have been nice to have the time to see more of Salem. I had also made the assumption that all of the work that I had requested Winter Island Yacht Yard do would be complete when I arrived, and that was not the case.
I am writing this in a hotel room in Chicago and it will be nice to have a day when I can do nothing specifically to do with Sunny Tug, since she will not arrive till Monday. However, I will be catching up on financial and administrative work, as well as planning out the first portions of our Loop journey.

Peter Haywood sent me this picture of Sunny Tug leaving Winter Island Yacht Yard. It is where she has lived for most of her life, and now is ready for new adventures.
